The Boy Scouts of America is the largest youth organization in the United States.
over one hundred million Americans have been members.
Eleven of the twelve men to walk on the Moon were Scouts.
As of 2004 there were almost 2 million cub scouts in 50,000 packs in the United States.
Our Pack 40 Cub Scout organization is committed to the following goals:
- Help our young scouts become physically, mentally, and emotionally fit
- Foster a high degree of self-reliance as evidenced in such qualities as initiative, courage, and resourcefulness
- Develop personal values based on religious concepts
- Encourage the desire and skills to help others
- Understand the principles of the American social, economic, and governmental systems
- Become knowledgeable about and take pride in their American heritage and understand our nation's role in the world
- Respect the basic rights of all people
- Prepare to participate in and give leadership to American society
